Train and Tram

The closest train stations to Leith Theatre are Edinburgh Waverley (1.9 miles) and Edinburgh Haymarket (3.1 miles). From either station, you can reach the venue by tram, taxi, bus, bike or on foot. Ocean Terminal is the nearest tram stop, just a 10-minute (0.4 mile) walk from Leith Theatre. Alternatively, you can disembark at the Foot of the Walk stop, which is a 12-minute (0.5 mile) walk.

Leith Theatre is located at 28-30 Ferry Road, Edinburgh, EH6 4AE, Scotland. Please note it sits behind Leith Library.

There is limited on-street parking available in the surrounding neighbourhood.  Leith Theatre is extremely accessible via public transport networks and has no public parking spaces onsite excluding one disabled parking bay.

The Main Auditorium has step free access on ground floor level, making it wheelchair accessible. That said, the balcony level is only accessible via steps and unfortunately, there are no lifts on site at Leith Theatre.  

For events in the Thomas Morton Hall, the audience area is entirely on the ground floor and therefore wheelchair accessible with step free access.  

Accessible toilets are available and clearly signposted. Please feel free to ask our staff for directions if needed.  

While there will be no dedicated parking at Leith Theatre for the summer programme, there are nearby parking options with accessible spaces. We recommend checking local parking facilities in advance of your event and arrive early to secure a suitable spot.   

Walking sticks, crutches, and other walking aids are welcome in all areas of Leith Theatre. If you prefer to store them during a performance, please speak to a member of staff when you arrive.

If you need to bring food, drinks or medication for medical reasons, you are welcome to do so. Let our team know upon arrival to ensure a hassle-free entry.  

Some events in our space do use strobe lighting or include lights flashing. If you have photosensitive epilepsy or any light sensitivity concerns, we recommend contacting us ahead of the event so we can share specific details about the event.
