A guided tour of the magnificent State Rooms designed by Robert Adam and access into the gardens.

Syon has a remarkable 600 years of garden history spanning from the gardens of the Abbey, where the priest Richard Whitford argued with Thomas Cromwell’s agents, through the sixteenth century plant collection of William Turner, the formality of the seventeenth century, the rise of the Brownian landscape in the eighteenth century, the great plant collection of the nineteenth century through to the extraordinary rise in interest in domestic gardening in the 1960s.  In the twenty first century, the landscape is emblematic of Syon, an extraordinary and multi-layered survival of great richness.

Please note during term time the guided tours are only available on Wednesdays and Thursdays and have limited access for wheelchairs, pushchairs, hearing and sight dogs.

Yes you can as a reminder of your visit but only for personal use.  There are restrictions in the house - no flash, no tripods, no selfie sticks.  Syon is unable to help with personal or student projects.  For blogs and commercial photography please see the Photography Policy for more details or contact [email protected].

Yes, there is a large free car park that is available for those visiting one of the businesses on the park. Parking is entirely at owners risk.  Syon Park will not accept any responsibility for loss or damage to vehicle or contents. 

Bicycle parking racks are located outside the Garden Centre

We usually close at the end of October and reopen in mid-March. 

No.  Throughout the season the House is open for tours only on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Free roam around the House and Gardens is permitted on Sundays and Bank Holidays tickets for those days can be purchased here.

Access Information

There is limited access for wheelchairs, pushchairs, sight and hearing dogs. The Visitor Centre and Great Conservatory are accessible for wheelchairs and mobility scooters. 

Appropriately trained and recognised assistance dogs are welcome on site. Pet dogs or those not providing tangible assistance to a disabled person will not be permitted.

There are designated disabled parking spaces in the car park.

There is an accessible toilet in the block in front of Syon House.

For visitors who require the assistance of a carer, the accompanying carer can enter the House and gardens free of charge. Please contact us prior to visiting if you require additional information regarding access and facilities.
